Thai Innovative Craft Storytelling
Thai Innovative Craft Project by SACICT
(The Support Arts and Crafts International Centre of Thailand)
Thai innovative Craft has focused on the development of handicrafts to promote good image for the Thai handicrafts by modernizing the design and meet the demand of today’s consumers. Designers, craftsmen and communities have worked together to develop the innovative design and to build collaborative network to further develop and generate income to the craft communities in a sustainable manner. The 4 groups of designers are assigned to modernize Thai handicrafts based on 5 different materials such as Wood (by Thinkk Studio), Metal (by Trimode Studio), Wicker (by Plural Designs) , Textile (by Trimode Studio) and Ceramic (by Pim Suthikam).
56thStudio has created a heartfelt short documentary, key visual/ styling as well as narrative strategy for this entire project.
